History
Bedian is a village located in the Kasur District of Pakistani Punjab. The ancestors of Bedian came to this region during the region of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who was the ruler of Punjab (from 1799-1839). After the partition of India, the Indian Punjab area was divided between India and Pakistan. To maintain the water level in canals and rivers, Pakistan built a huge canal called Bambawali-Ravi-Bedian Canal, which brought water from the Chenab River to the Upper Bari doab canal.
